Alma Hinojosa-Lavalle was born in Durango, Mexico, and grew up in Aurora, Colorado. She earned her degree in English Literature, with a minor in Ethnic Studies and a certificate in Leadership Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2018.

Her passion for legal advocacy has led her to her current work with the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. She is actively involved in the Colorado community, serving as a board member of the Boulder County Latino League, where she finds fulfillment in giving back to the communities that helped shape her into the young woman she is today.
